Montessori Is A Nurturing And Holistic Approach To Learning

Two Terms per Year

  • The academic year is divided into two terms to facilitate structured learning and assessment
  • Term 1: Typically spans from the beginning of the academic year to mid-year, covering a significant portion of the syllabus and preparing students for formative assessments.
  • Term 2: Follows after the mid-year break and concludes with the final examinations, focusing on reinforcing the lessons learned in Term 1 and ensuring students are well-prepared for year-end evaluations.

Unit Tests at B.S.S. Public School

  • Short Unit Tests: Each term (1st and 2nd) includes short unit tests for all subjects
  • These tests are conducted periodically throughout the term to assess students’ understanding of specific topics.
  • Test Format: Each unit test is of 20 marks.
  • Frequency: Each subject has a minimum of 2 unit tests in both the 1st and 2nd terms.
  • These tests help track student progress, identify areas for improvement, and reinforce learning before the terminal block exams.

  • Continuous Class Assessments: Reports for students in Nursery to Class II are based on continuous assessments conducted throughout the academic year.
  • These assessments focus on the overall development and progress of students, considering both academic and behavioral aspects.
  • No Terminal Block Tests: Students in these grades do not have terminal block exams
  • The focus is on regular observation, interactive learning, and formative assessments to monitor student growth and learning.
